thanks to President Trump for bringing common sense action to the issue of psychedelics. Too many of my friends I deployed with have come home with invisible wounds and when seeking help, are given bags of prescription drugs by the VA to try to numb the pain, only to make things worse.  Friends of mine like Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer have shared how receiving treatment with psychedelics have been nothing short of life changing and lifesaving.   President Trump took historic action today by signing a deeply impactful Executive Order that will open the doors to advance psychedelics research and treatment for our veterans and all Americans battling addiction and post traumatic stress. Stanford studies of this kind of treatment show an 88% drop in PTSD symptoms, 87% in depression & 81% in anxiety—one month later, veterans went from moderate disability to none. This action is long overdue and could save countless lives.

As we observe solemn week of Holocaust Remembrance, we honor the memory of the six million Jews and millions of others murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators. We stand in solidarity with survivors, their families, and all who carry the scars of that unimaginable evil. I will never forget my visit to the Warsaw Ghetto and Auschwitz. Walking through those grounds—seeing the gas chambers, the piles of shoes, eyeglasses, and personal belongings—left a profound and lasting impact on me. It was a visceral reminder of human’s capacity for evil, and of our duty to confront such hatred and darkness. We must ensure “Never Again” is not just words, but a guiding principle.
